VQuest and VQuest-3X are Everquest conversion mods for Warcraft 3. The Frozen Throne expansion is required to play them both, and it is recommended that you update your version of Warcraft 3 to at least v1.20 before attempting to play.

The main difference between the two versions, is that VQuest-3X grants each player the ability to control three heroes at the same time (in a max-four-player game). It also sports several additional changes to regular VQuest; for a specific list, it would be worth browsing the changelog in the text file included in the zip.

Being based on Everquest, VQuest is mostly a hack and slash fight from level 1 to level 65. There are quests, but they are intended to give the players something to do for a little extra reward, rather than shaping or directing the course that the player has to take in the world. In other words, if you choose to not do them, it won't make any difference in the slightest.

Both versions of VQuest are teamplay-oriented mods, and are designed to be played with other people. As in the case of regular VQuest, it's recommended you play with at least 3 players (and supports up to 9). It is also recommended that you play classes that work well together. Tanks and healers, all that sorta thing. If you've played Everquest, or really any of the MMORPG's that are out these days, you should feel right at home.
